I’ve got the blues
by admin on Feb.28, 2008, under Workouts
What do you expect…I live in Chicago. Many of you have probably experienced the post race blues. You know, that “down” feeling you get after a good race. You experience such a rush of euphoria, then you have the crash.
I was feeling down today. Could it be the cold? Sure, but I was so excited this week about have three good hard workouts in a row. They weren’t races, but when you set your workout goals and beat them, it’s a great feeling. Then, I got the let down because today was a rest day. Weird. You’d expect I’d be happy to recover, but sometimes you just want more.
Should I grab some Prozac? Nope. All I need to do is look at my training log for this weekend!
Shhhh…don’t tell my girlfriend…

I stole her hairdryer. Hey, I needed 1800+ watts of heating power, baby, and I didn’t want to go buy a heatgun! This little pocket cyclone of hot air helped me remove the decals on my aero helmet and Zipp wheels. What! Use it on my hair? When you get your hair cut with clippers, you don’t need a hairdryer. I’ll post photos later of my newly designed helmet and race wheels.
P.S. The miter saw was NOT used in decal removal.
I Think It Needs More Salt
by admin on Feb.22, 2008, under News
After a few weeks of primarily biking indoors on the Computrainer, I decided to get outside on Friday night. One of the things that I love about Chicago is that the city actually salts and plows the lakefront path. The only problem is that they use more salt on the path after one snowfall then Madison uses for all of its streets the whole winter. Still, I’m not complaining, it just gives me a reason to wash my bike more. Check out my Kuota’s new winter “paint scheme” below.
